Volkswagen Taigun

Volkswagen is presented at the Auto Show in San Paulo, a new compact crossover concept called Taigun. The car, based on the compact Up!, reaches 3859 mm long, 1724 mm wide and 1559 mm high with a wheelbase of 2470 mm. Outwardly the car is executed in the general corporate Volkswagen style and reminds larger Touareg and Tiguan. By the way, the name of a new concept is an anagram of a name of the last and is urged to emphasize unambiguously the general style and target audience of a novelty — inhabitants of big cities. It is necessary to note also wide wheel arches, an angular form of forward headlights and back lamps, and also two exhaust pipes and the railing on a roof. Founders chose as firm color of a concept shade dark blue under the name Seaside Blue.

 

Saloon Volkswagen Taigun nominally designed for five passengers, although, as in the case of the Up!, can comfortably get a maximum of four. Interior design concept is also similar to a compact, the underlying, a modest, but tasteful. But the car boasts a decent amount of luggage - 280 liters. With the rear seats folded, it increases to 987 liters, which is pretty good for a car of this size.


Under the hood of Volkswagen Taigun housed more powerful version of one-liter three-cylinder engine, mounted on the Up!. Turbocharged engine with direct injection system is able to deliver 110 h.p and 175  Nm peak torque. The motor is paired with a 6-step mechanics. Acceleration to 100 km/h - 9.2 seconds, fuel consumption per 100 km - 4.7 liters. In this case, the car makers emphasize that the drive only the front, because the model is specifically designed for city driving.

 

The company made ​​a big bet on this model and expect to sell it since 2015 on global markets.
