Within the auto show in New York has officially presented the new generation of legends of the American auto industry, supercar Viper. Now the car will be called not Dodge Viper, and SRT Viper. The new Viper is radically different from it's predecessor, but the spirit remains the same Viper. Thus, the new body become more rigid for 50%, the car received a new chassis, rear suspension, improved steel frame and lightweight body panels made from carbon fiber and aluminum. Weight of rear-wheel drive supercar has decreased by 50 kg. SRT Viper is equipped with system of instant start of Launch Control, suspension has two settings and is subject to the special keys on the center console, but this gadget is only available in a rich version of the GTS. To stop this rapid viper used Brembo brakes with four pistons and discs 355 mm diameter. The car is equipped with a switchable stabilization system with four modes.
Inside the novelty received an electronic instrument panel with 7-inch display, a red leather anatomical seat and center console, dashboard and handbrake grip stitched red thread. Unfortunately, other data on a novelty while aren't present. But already now is clear that new Viper will receive also the racing version which presented within an auto show.
And, finally, became known characteristics of the power unit. SRT Viper received a 8.4-liter 10-cylinder gasoline engine, an outstanding 640 hp. The red zone on the tachometer begins with 6200 rpm, the engine is paired with a manual six-speed transmission Tremec TR6060. Alas, the dynamic characteristics and the cost of SRT Viper is not known yet.
