Just yesterday Mercedes SL roadster ahead of time surfaced on the Internet, and already today appears official photos and details about this car. The design has undergone evolutionary changes, and here a technical component — almost revolutionary. Thanks to the last the roadster becomes simultaneously athletic and more comfortable. The sports behavior opened 2-doors car achieved mainly due to savings in the total weight of 140 kilograms. This is despite the fact that body length increased by 50 mm, width - 57 mm. A secret in extensive use aluminum in design: the power structure of a body, a door, a cowl, suspender elements is made of it. But here the boot lid is executed from plastic.
At the start of sales SL will be offered with two engines- a supercharged V8 with 435 h.p. and 700 Nm torque (version SL500) and a 3.5-liter atmospheric V6 with 306 hp and 370 Nm (version SL350).Both engines are on friendly terms with fuel-saving start-stop system and are joined with 7-steps automatic transmission.
The younger engine is capable to disperse a roadster to 100 km/h for 5,9 seconds, and the senior — for 4,6 seconds. The maximum speed of both versions is identical — 250 km/h. For comparison: old SL350 has 316 h.p. and accelerated for 6,2 seconds, and SL500 gives out 388 h.p. and spends 5,4 seconds for dispersal to 100 km/h. Fuel consumption was reduced even more considerably, than acceleration time — the version with V6 spends now for 100 km 6,8 liters instead of 9,9.
The list of technologies includes three variants of a roof evolving for 20 seconds (painted, glass or panoramic with blackout), heating of area a neck and a head, low-frequency speaker from area of feet of the front passenger, system of preparation for the crash, adaptive head light, multimedia system Comand and many other things.
The premiere new SL will pass on a showroom in Detroit which opens on January, 9th. The prices aren't known yet.
