New Golf GTI at Paris Auto Show
At the Paris Motor Show, Volkswagen has officially demonstrated the pre-production seventh-generation Golf GTI, and in two versions - with three or five doors. The market model will be released no earlier than six months, but it seems that Germans had got everything ready for production. Golf GTI gets several versions two-liter supercharged TSI unit with direct injection. The first version develops 220 h.p (previously 210 h.p) and 350 Nm of torque. Second version forced 230 h.p will be offered as part of the sport package Performance Package.
Base GTI will be able to accelerate to 100 km/h for 6.6 seconds (previous generation - in 6.9 sec.), forced version with Performance Package - in 6.5 seconds. Top speed is 246 and 250 kilometers per hour, respectively. GTI thus becomes ,more economical then predecessor by 18%, the average fuel consumption is 6 liters per 100 kilometers.
Boxes - six mechanics and the six-speed robot DSG with two wet clutches. As for the all-wheel drive version of the charged R, it should be expected in the second half of next year.
