On a showroom in Frankfurt the premiere of the new generation five-door Civic has taken place. This model still seriously differs from the American sedans and coupe which have been shown for the first time in January on a showroom in Detroit. In Europe in addition to hatchback will be on sale also sedan. Premiere four-door Civic will take place later.
Even before the premiere, it was clear that the revolution count on now is not worth it. Despite it's age, the old Civic is still one of the most "daring" cars in it's class. Therefore, the Japanese engineers have decided to keep a good style, though without interest "chips" not done. For example, the taillights are not here just lights. This is both a spoiler!
Engines remain the old, but they were made more economical and cleaner. In Europe, continues to be offered 2.2-liter diesel (150 h.p). Transmission, "mechanics" or "automatic". Other engines, unfortunately, will not, although the five-door Civic and the new generation is asking for the engine, which produces a 200 "h.p".
And the Honda paid much attention to improving the car's driving performance and simultaneous increase of comfort (the last at the old Civic was not too good, especially against the background of new models of class "C"). The Japanese say that, thanks to all the changes that were made to the design of the car and they are, believe me, a lot, Civic has become not only smoother (with better handling), but also noticeably quieter! Five-door Honda Civic breaks in the premium class? Apparently, yes.
