On the Geneva showroom Aston Martin will show the newest coupe Virage and cabriolet Virage Volante. This name already met in the history of the British mark – Aston Martin Virage was issued in 1988-1995 of the last century. The car is based on platform V/H (Aston Martin DBS) and will occupy a niche between Aston Martin DB9 and DBS. Accordingly, and technical characteristics at the car will be intermediate not to compete directly to two colleagues. The car has received six-liter 12-cylinders engine capacity of 497 h.p., 570 Nm (at DB9 477 h.p., at DBS – 517 h.p.) With which six-step automatic transmission ZF Touchtronic II is aggregated. Englishmen very much are proud that it was possible to achieve ideal weight distribution of the car 50:50 that positively will affect roadability of a sport car. To first hundred Aston Martin Virage is dispersed for 4,6 sec, and the maximum speed makes 299 km/h. Aston Martins DB9 and DBS carry out the same exercise for 4,8 sec(306 km/h) and 4,3 sec (307 km/h) accordingly.
According to head of Aston Martin doctor Ulrich Bez, «Aston Martin Virage took from DBS the perfect technics, and from DB9 and Rapide – the highest comfort». About comfort it is possible not to doubt – the inner trim occupies 70 man-hours, that is third of all time spent for car assembly. Aston Martin Virage will be issued or with the landing formula 2+2, or with double interior (option). In the latter case Englishmen promise higher dynamic characteristics. From other features of the car it is necessary to note electronically suspender Adaptive Damping System, carbon-ceramic brakes, system of stabilization DSC, 700-W audiosystem with Dolby Prologic II, satellite navigation, bi-xenon headlights and cruise-control. And all this enters into base equipment of the car.
Aston Martin Virage will be issued at factory in the city of Gejdone and to be on sale in 41 country of the world at the price about 150 000 pounds sterling. Dealers have already begun demands acceptance, and the first cars will arrive to buyers not earlier than summer of this year.
